Show and tell........

Once upon a time a sad little dark brown and (a little bit stinky) cupboard came home with me.......it sat for many weeks unpainted and unloved..then the other week when the sun was shining I whipped it outside, popped on my painting hat ( I always get paint in my hair!) and gave it a little makeover, all shiny and white inside and out and with pretty flower sticky back plasticky stuff......then I popped her back inside and gave her the job of looking after all our #1's and#2's DVDs...hurrah job done!!! and I even have space to display some of my little vintage bits...all for £5...bargain

I won't mention that the boys can't actually open the doors to get to their DVDs because I was so happy with the result I shut them too quickly and now they are stuck.......ahem...
I was supposed to be making bags today...

But this little bundle kept calling to me....so I finished this instead..pics to follow.......

Have a lovely weekend...sorry I know its only Thursday but it feels like Friday and I never know what day it is anyway :)

round and round..........

Sometimes you need a project that you can just pick up and not think about too much......I can't read crochet patterns very well....(I'm working on that) but in the meantime I just like going round and round...

It's mindless, therapeutic, it grows fast and best of all I don't even have to look much to see what I'm doing..which means I can watch Madmen at the same time :)


It grows so fast that I had to start another blanket......this is for #1's bedroom so am trying 'very' hard to not put any pink in..........in fact I have made so many blankets now that when we went to my Mums in the holidays I left a couple on their bunk beds, much to my Mums amusement as it was my lovely Mum who taught me how to crochet :)

......when I'm not going round and round you can find me most days buried under a pile of fabric... in other words avoiding housework and other grown up duties :)

Catching up.....

Fabrics are slowly turning into other things......

some to stay and some to go.....

mixing up the patterns is my favourite bit

and then I stare at them and plan and think.....

but alas no time for staring tonight, our #1 is going on a big cub camp this weekend and when I looked in his bag to see if he had all his equipment all I saw was a toothbrush...2 boxes of mint choc poppets.......Oreo cookies and some fruit pastilles!!!!!!! I guess I've got packing to do :)

I attempted a cold shower this morning ..........lets just say the boys thought that Rolf Harris was being castrated in the bathroom..........I don't care what those life coaches say I did NOT feel motivated when I got out......

Finally.....a winner ....

Yaaaahoooooo, I'm back...with a new browser and a new-found knowledge of cookies and caches!! We have just had the longest two weeks ever, school holidays started with Mr H going away for work so me and the boys had a nice little trip over to Grandmas in Yorkshire for a few days, then followed lots of rain, a broken toilet, a broken shower, a trip to the vets for Arnie, a trip to the dentists for me (crown fell out) and the holiday ending with me and Mr H at a Take That concert.
Lets just say my knowledge of toilet syphons,shower circuit boards and how to remove a tick, whilst looking like a hillbilly(tooth missing) has also improved :-)

In between all the mayhem I did manage to finish a few projects like this little blanket, remember me saying I was going to make some things out of my vintage fabric stash before I sold it all? .....well I got a bit addicted so there are a few new things to show and tell, this is my favourite, I love the way the colours look next to each other...oh I do love colours....
