Ho Ho HO part 2

Sparkly and fairy lighty is the theme for today. I finally found my christmas spirit....(of the spicy mulled kind) and its starting to look a bit more festive around here.... I've had my annual pre-christmas meltdown (think Shrek 3 and the "do the roar" bit!!) so now thats out of the way its on with the jolly stuff........
......like this chap ....paperchase again :)

We're having a white christmas here this year...whatever the weather..... and Arnie gets his own sparkly 'game show host' style collar.
Its a busy week with school plays and gatherings and me trying to finish off my handmade gifts so I am taking a little blog break for now and will be back in January 2011!!!!!!!!!!

Wishing you a lovely sparkly week and a Fabby, Happy, Jolly, Peaceful and Fun Christmas

Ho Ho Ho

Just another quick post today, to share a christmas fave........quite a few years ago, when the boys were tiny, I wandered into Woolies and came out with a cheap christmas video, I had never heard of it before but the picture on the case swung it....I took it home, we all watched and there began my total love affair with J.Otto Siebold and Olive the other Reindeer....

Years on its still my favourite christmas film/book. I even have the pop up advent calendar and our dog (see last post) bears an uncanny resemblance to Olive. All his books are amazing.........pop one on your christmas list if its not too late x x x x x

Stay warm :)

P.S I'm having a little coupon code offer in my etsy shop, 10% off item price if you type in HOHOHO25 at checkout................:)

WallpApeR LovE

The wallpaper is up!!! After trawling through the Internet trying to find suitable designs...... 3!!!!!!!! came into my possession in less than 3 days... the debate was all over and the pasting table was out before we'd had breakfast!!...... no time to read the directions on how to mix wallpaper paste.....no time for toast!....... no time to find that thingy with the bubble in that tells you if its straight!! I really couldn't contain myself, there I was with not one but three fabby mcfab wallpapers....... so instead of choosing one I went for all of them.

The middle one is my favourite, I love gingham and although this probably should be sitting on a wall next to a little fifties dresser full of cups and plates in a kitchen, I love it in its little bedroom collage mode, the right one is very retro and really bright and the left one I wasn't as keen on but with its little friends it has shone!!! The fact that I found this one in a funny little shop where the only way of getting my hands on it were to use a golf club to hook it while almost disappearing into a pile of (not very nice) vintage fabrics and old Christmas trees makes me love it a little more.

So here it is in all its glory, my first attempt at wallpapering !!! I almost wanted to sleep the other way round so I could gaze at its jumbly, patchwork loveliness....I also found my much coveted Charlie Browns pathetic Christmas tree this weekend ( again procured with the golf club!) but that's for another day I think :)

Have a lovely week x x x x x x

The post about doing stuff

I am having a making and finding week, searching for lovely vintage linens, christmas whatnots and wallpapers. The latter is for home as I have decided that covering the walls with some floral tribute to the 70's is exactly what is needed at the moment.

I have brought home some very dubious samples which were met with much amusement, luckily my other half knows I go with what I like anyway, (the more they laugh ...the more I order...) Some new bags are waiting to go on the littleteawagon shelves and I'm hoping it will be a productive week all round.....

Have a lovely week :)

Betty,Blue and Oz

Just got time to show and tell.... Betty and Blue, they are my softies for Mirabel contribution and will be heading off to Australia tomorrow for a new life....hhhmmmm I like the sound of that!!!!

I discovered this venture through the lovely made by jenni on flickr http://handmadebyjenni.blogspot.com/ and found out that it was something anyone, anywhere could take part in. They are made from my favourite vintage and recycled fabrics. I originally intended to do a girl and a boy (blue), but I'm afraid my girly girlness and a big box of pretty haberdashery trims got the better of me.............

Have a lovely week x x x x

Q and A's

After reading one of my favourite blogs the other day. (coco rose) I decided to join in the Q and A.

What age were you most happy?..... Honestly??? my 20's I loved the freedom, the travelling, my job, that carefree feeling you get before life starts to get too serious, but I'm very happy now just a little frazzled round the edges.

Most played song? Too many... but Bigmouth Strikes Again 'The Smiths' and Eds Funky Diner 'Its Immaterial' at the moment

Favourite food-least favourite food? I love ice cream, any flavour, any weather

Fave TV or film? Armstrong and Miller for TV, too many films to mention, as its nearly Halloween I'll say Nightmare before Christmas
One regret? Answering the ideal job question!

Ideal Job? ..........
Favourite flower? I love all flowers I think I would choose them for colour rather than type - pinks/oranges/yellows

Us in our carefree twenties, I hate having my photo taken and this is the only one I've ever liked!!

Have a great weekend x x x

Meet the Family - spooks

The Toilet Roll family have had a make-over this week, any excuse to dress up is fine by me and even better when all it involves is some small bits of fabric and some plasticine! I've become very attatched to these little cardboard guys, they stand in a row on a shelf in the hall and everytime I run upstairs past them I smile to myself thinking about how they are very quiet, never answer back or bark, never make a mess or smell and are very cheap to keep!

I have to admit its getting harder and harder to make 8 and 9 year old boys sit down and make anything these days but the opportunity to make gory monster type items was too tempting even for them..... and I love the fact that Herman looks less scarey now than he did as himself :)

I also dug out these lanterns from last year, so simple to make from old jam jars and tissue paper, they look fab hanging from trees or in the window at night.
Have a great week x x x x

Eiderdowns and Owls

I've been a very busy bee this week and got lots of things finished, photos have been taken, packages posted, beds have been made.....oh ...erm cue......shameless pic of my lovely eiderdown from Folly and Glee

I finished some cushions that have been sitting in my cupboard half made since the summer....

These are for the shop just in case you had images of me balancing on the top like princess and the pea whilst tapping away on the computer....

And I finally managed to take this photo....

I love owls......... he is for the shop too and I'm planning to do a few more of these as they are such fun to do, very me.. no planning or method just get stuck in and see what happens!

I have been to Paperchase again too, on the pretence of buying a birthday card but I just like buying their stickers....

These are fab and even better, when I turned out the lights last night I discovered they glow in the dark :) I just love that squirrel!

Have a great weekend, I know its only thursday but we're nearly there x x x x x

Pumpkins and Squirrels

The weeks are whizzing by and another half term looms, so I have been busy making and searching and fiddling and changing and fiddling and changing and re-arranging.

In another life I was a graphic designer and I miss playing around with images, so too often I find myself changing the logo in the shop or re-doing the title on here...it's good to mix things up a bit I think...nothing stays the same for long..................

Much like these two........

.......boys..I love 'em but I cannot work them out!

littleteawagon the shop is 6 months old on monday, I feel I should do something to mark the occasion but fear I will be up to my neck in mess, boys, zombies, dog, pumpkins and lots of orange stuff!(of the £shop kind)
Have a good week :)

Its christmas....not

I know I said I was wishing the weeks away but ..........

no don't worry.... I haven't made a time machine...I've just been playing around with props for shop photo's ( I knew my 50p tinsel tree bought in February last year would come in handy for something!)

I am loving this cute little bag from my lovely friend to put all my portable craft tools in for on the go crafting.... I do like to crochet in the most portable places...car (always unless I am driving obviously)....queuing(always)....cinema?(if the lights good enough!)....beach(sometimes but prefer flying my kite)....school parents eve!!!(I wish!!)

Also loving my little present from the lovely http://www.flickr.com/photos/paperdolly/ a really sweet surprise that arrived at the most perfect time.

Have a lovely week :) x x x

The post about distractions.....

Wednesday already, I'm wishing for the weekend at the moment,
I am
deeply distracted
by goings on of a not very nice nature,
so need to nose about and find something nice
to take my mind off things

Yep that'll do nicely.......

I'm easily pleased :)

Big Ears and Bunny Ears

Leaving September always makes me feel really wistful and nostalgic.......

Here are some things I have found here and there .... I love the little bunny ornament, weird looking I know but I think that's why I like it.........
and old books which are in a sorry state so are destined for another life now (I tell myself that because I feel bad cutting up old books)

Another birthday this weekend, #2 is 8 on Sunday so I will be swapping the pink bunting and french fancies for Union Jacks, chocolate cake and tarantulas.. (don't ask)

Have a lovely weekend :)

The post with lots of pink in it

There is only one day every year when I can get away with this much girliness!!!!

My boys, bless them, indulge me in every way, the pink balloons, the bunting and french fancies (not such a hardship!)

They drink tea in flowery cups and eat pink cakes from the girliest china and sing 'Happy Birthday' in the sweetest voices .................then they go off to talk about bums, bogeys and make mutant lego people!

My prezzies were Fab, I asked for the Julie Arkell book after the lovelyhttp://cocorosetextiles.blogspot.com/ mentioned her work to me........ (see also peeking out the Armstrong and Miller book....signed ......sigh.....I love them.......a lot....)

So I will eek out the girliness for at least the weekend...Have a good one :)

P.s Thankyou so much all for the comments on the last post,I have loved reading them all. Can't wait to see who wins x x x
