Most Worn Summer 2012 Tag!

As school is started up again and summer is coming to a close, this tag has been extremely popular in the blogging/YouTube world. After watching Charley's (Athens With Love - definitely check her out, such a sweet and genuine beauty vlogger) video, I decided to forward the tag! This summer for me wasn't the typical, at home in FL going to the beach every day and drinking daquiris by the pool. It was quite the opposite actually, because I was in NYC for a 10-week internship! My typical summer beauty habits focused on moisturizers with SPF, powder foundation and waterproof mascara, quickly changed to working city girl beauty necessities.

End of Summer Sephora Haul

Being that this is my last week in NYC, I decided to go on a bit of a Sephora shopping spree after resisting the temptation every day in passing it on my walk to my internship. The products that I bought are products I have been eyeing all summer long and are loved by many of the beauty bloggers I follow.

Summer Sephora Haul #1

As you all may have realized, Sephora is my go-to place for all things beauty. Makeup, skincare, perfume...you name it! I'm lucky (and dangerously) enough to live ONE block away from a Sephora store. While that may sound incredibly convenient and tempting, that's not all. I walk to and from my internship, Monday through Friday, and pass this Sephora store every time. It's amazing I don't break the bank there, but I've resisted even stepping foot in the store...until yesterday, that is.

June Favorites!

It's been a while since my last post, but I promise it's only because I've been busy doing great things and blogging on From Sunshine to the City! I also have been saving money and trying not to spend too much on makeup (even though it's proved to be VERY challenging).

Since my last favorites post in March (I can't believe how long ago that is), there are a few changes! I haven't been switching up my makeup too much since I'm usually in a rush to get to my internship.

From Sunshine to the City

Hello lovely followers,

I'm finally on summer vacation since I am done with my final exams and moved back home to South Florida. As many of you may know from my previous post or my Twitter, I am interning in NYC this summer at an advertising/marketing agency on Park Avenue and living in the city from end of May to beginning of August! Through this life-changing experience, I will be blogging alongside three of my friends (also from Florida, hence the name) of our experience living in the city, interning in the city, and all of the adventures that come our way.

NYC Bucket List

I hope you’re all having a terrific Tuesday :). For a couple weeks now, a few friends and myself have been working on creating the ultimate NYC summer bucket list! We are interns and therefore on a budget too. If YOU have been to NYC, interned in NYC, or live in NYC…I would LOVE if you could share some of your favorite spots or places that you consider a must-see and bucket list worthy. I personally have been to NYC about 7 times with family, friends and for school trips, so I have done the majority of the super touristy activities.

Spring Break/Beach Beauty

While I go to school in Orlando, unfortunately over 30 minutes away from the beach, I was born and raised in Palm Beach, FL- sunny South Florida! My house is walking distance to the intercoastal and a 10-minute drive to one of my favorite beaches ever- Juno Beach Pier (my picture below from this past December).

treats :) ..........

..week 3 of the summer hols ( yes I am counting ) things are calming down a bit now, I have to say the boys were beyond hyper when they first broke up and I truly wondered if it was ever going to ease up.... but we had a little jolly over to my lovely Mums in Yorkshire and it seems to have done the trick.....

I took my crochet and Mr H brought a book, the boys spent everyday outside with their new friends, building dens, climbing trees, biking, running and chasing......

I even got to do a bit of shopping on my own and treated myself to some new fabric for a little project I am thinking of.....
(shed related obviously)

and I also spotted some lovely yarn in Boyes.......now bearing in mind I do like a noodle round the shops but in school holidays I always have 1 or 2 boys plus a dog with me that's not too easy to pull off.... so I LOVE a shop that sells everything...where else could I have bought

*lovely stylecraft wool
*a swimming hat
*a waterproof padlock
*pretty rose bud and gingham fabrics
*hairdressing scissors
*dog food

........random but brilliant :)

Thankyou for your kind words about the 'shed'
it is a very humble little dwelling and still has yet to get a proper roof but you can find me gazing at it lovingly from the kitchen window when I should be making dinner :)

hope you are having a lovely week

**note added : I knew as soon as I wrote it that it would come back and bite me on the bum, but the calm didn't last long.... just as I pressed publish.. there was a big bang.....which was apparently a little 'tiff' and a broken bed  :) :) :) I keep smiling ...I enjoyed it while it lasted x

The post with no name

Rubbish weather and school holidays go together like Morrissey and Marr... what can you do but go out with the dog and get wet A LOT.. or read, watch old films and draw. Surfing the internet for nice birthday treats is always good, as is looking through old photo albums and giggling at the enormous cheeks of your babes, (is it appropriate to tell your children that they used to have 'moobs'!!???)
