This week I have been mostly.............

Sewing :) ........................Curtains....not my forte but I loved the fabric so much I figured even if I messed up I would still love them :) and I do...........

Theres no stopping me now I've overcome my fear of curtain tape and I'm off in search of more... over the top blousey florals for my house full of boys :)

The post about awards......

No sorry not those ones.... no red carpet and designer dresses here, although I did do a little skip and a squeal when I heard Colin had won one,....... no these are blog awards, two of which I'm afraid were awarded last November..( I did do a post all about this at the time but it was very 'linky' and I made a big mess)

So thankyou so much to these three lovely girls who sent me these awards :) and apologies for the .....long wait..........

So here are my seven things about me

* I got married in Doc Martins ( very very pretty silver blue brocade ones to match my dress though)

* When I was sixteen I met Morrissey, I kissed his hand, he threw some flowers at me and he wrote I love you on my autograph



* I always read the last page of a book first......


* Steve Martin once left a message on our answer phone, we wanted to keep it on forever but we had a power cut and it got wiped off


* I can't say the word Copacabana.... (luckily not a word you have to say that much but you'd be surprised how often I find myself 'trying' to say it


* I'm teaching myself how to play the accordion, its not going too well up to now, but I'm hopeful.


* I have a memory like a goldfish...., I can watch a whole film before realising I've seen it before.

I should now pass this on to 7 other lovely blogs but I fear my 'linky mess' may rear its ugly head again... ...so I'm going to say that I think there are lots of wonderful blogs out there, all very worthy of these awards and I thank you all for the lovely comments you leave and the smiles you bring me (hope thats ok)

WOW it really is like the oscars over here today, I just need to get my hands on one of those $75.000 goody bags :)

Nice things......

A few things that are making me smile today .............

Finding a 'something' to hang my fabrics and garlands on for photos :) ........

My valentines prezzie from Mr H who spotted this Peanuts flask on my much coveted etsy faves over on the right :) ......

New trims and freshly laundered vintage sheets :).......

The cutest key fob from my lovely friend fee @ chippernelly :).......

And finally getting round to starting on some new messenger bags for the shop , I so love making these :) ..........

Jollies

We've been on our jolly holidays, a bit last minute as usual but much needed :) The weather was 'bracing' but beautiful and it was just what we needed to blow the cobwebs and the winter blues away...

The east coast in Yorkshire is one of my favourite places to be...theres something a bit wild and mysterious about all those crashing waves and little caves.... am a bit fed up to be back now but I did find a new obsession while we were there which could bring a little sunshine into our back garden.....

I've decided to build a beach hut, not quite sure how or where yet but I am working on it..and these are my inspiration.....shame I won't have that view but I can dream...


I wouldn't mind my own little boat too but one thing at a time I think...

Apart from getting VERY wet feet the boys favourite thing to do was the penny arcade games where they (amazingly) won lots of keyrings :)

So to keep a smile on my face I decided to give my 'roll model' a spring wardrobe update....wish it was that easy to do my own :)

Charlie Brown and Pillowcases

As another half term holiday approaches, I'm wondering where the days are going?!?! I feel like I'm peddling up a steep hill and not getting anywhere......Oh no that would be me on my exercise bike,which after only a week is now wearing vintage pillowcases to hide the fact that I haven't got time to go on it...

Anyway I'm looking forward to not...... rushing about, doing school runs, ironing hideous maroon sweatshirts and just generally having some time to ourselves....to watch my favourite..... Charlie Brown and read another J.otto Seibold book which is just as lovely as his christmas one :)

The post about spring.....again

Yes I'm going on about it again....but I can't help feeling its just around the corner and I have a 'Spring' in my step (or is that just the wind blowing me along??)

I've been a washing and a chopping some nice 'spring' like fabrics and a nice parcel arrived from my lovely flickr friend paperdolly with some lovely bedding and a cute little 'spring' like lamb!!! Also a weekend in Yorkshire with my mum/sis and some school friends.....shopping.....sleeping in and nice food was just the ticket :)
