progress........

despite what I said in my last post....I would never make a builder..........

also the 'change' I mentioned could be that I almost had 2 fingers missing after this weeks antics with a small saw and some plasterboard!!!.......but I'm getting to the good bits now....

a change is as good as ...a ..something....

I find myself all alone today...apart from Arnie who is too busy snoring in his bed to notice me :) 

so I am trying to make a to do list which is as long as my ....well my yard stick at least... 

I feel a change coming ....not sure what yet... but something is afoot..( love that word!)

yesterday you could have found me in the local D I Y store with a pencil behind my ear again...a flowery tape measure and lots of saws and blades and tacks and pins...looking very much 'in the know' 

(not really but trying very hard!!) 

I am in my element in such places...in another life I would have been a builder...I've already expressed my love of power tools on here but it got me in a bit of trouble so I won't say too much :)

maybe that's what the change is ....... I leave behind my life of vintage sheets and crochet .....and swap it for the world of steel toe boots and tool belts..... 

I like it ....

aah but then maybe not :)

not much going on here at the moment...just catching up with things

shed progress has stopped for a while due to a sore tooth... meaning my very small budget was used up on painful dentistry....ouch!

but I am working on getting it finished before the end of the month and then I can move in...yay

(I'll never be seen again!!!!)

so having a bit of time to myself again...means making again and that makes me very happy indeed...

........some new little garlands for the shop

the cogs are turning in my tiny mind...new ideas...projects....more time...more time :)

Sometimes.........

.....there is no doubt that I live in a house full of boys ....

it makes me chuckle to spot who is lurking among the girliness

.....we have been away on our summer jollies....... there was sunshine and sea and lots of this.....

I got a bit homesick though and felt a little out of sorts which isn't like me..

.....this never came out of the bag!!?? ( I think I was missing my bed..and my shed )

but we did have a lovely time, met up with  friends  and managed to visit our favourite spot.....

such a lovely place and as we went late on our way back home it was so quiet and peaceful...

just what was needed :)

........it's back to school next week so I am hoping to get lots of sewing and chopping done to stock up the littleteawagon....... 

I feel a nip in the air and sense my favourite time of year is fast approaching....

a little too late I realise that summer is almost over and I have spent far too much time staring at a screen or stressing over a shed roof....so I take a little step back and make the most of what is left of our school holidays.......as I slow down..... I stop to look at the things making me smile today.....

new crochet..some of these I made earlier this year but kind of forgot about :)

my favourite sheets made into little patchwork blankets, I can't wait to use these :)

lots of pretty bunting for the garden....to disguise the fact that I haven't had time to plant any nice summer flowers this year :)

and getting the boys to bake with me......I had to promise I would make lego biscuits....hence the yellow icing and they were gobbled up too quick to get a pic :)

PS. I have to add ..... my time staring at these lovely piles is short and mostly I am trying to keep up with boys on bikes with scary road sense while trying to stop the dog from eating a 5 day old bacon sandwich that he (always) finds on the way in to the village :)

..week 3 of the summer hols ( yes I am counting ) things are calming down a bit now, I have to say the boys were beyond hyper when they first broke up and I truly wondered if it was ever going to ease up.... but we had a little jolly over to my lovely Mums in Yorkshire and it seems to have done the trick.....

I took my crochet and Mr H brought a book, the boys spent everyday outside with their new friends, building dens, climbing trees, biking, running and chasing......

I even got to do a bit of shopping on my own and treated myself to some new fabric for a little project I am thinking of.....
(shed related obviously)

and I also spotted some lovely yarn in Boyes.......now bearing in mind I do like a noodle round the shops but in school holidays I always have 1 or 2 boys plus a dog with me that's not too easy to pull off.... so I LOVE a shop that sells everything...where else could I have bought

*a swimming hat 

*a waterproof padlock  

*pretty rose bud and gingham fabrics 

*hairdressing scissors  

*dog food  

........random but brilliant :)

Thankyou for your kind words about the 'shed'
it is a very humble little dwelling and still has yet to get a proper roof but you can find me gazing at it lovingly from the kitchen window when I should be making dinner :)
