Part 2: Favorite Beauty Gurus

One of my most popular posts was where I covered my favorite beauty gurus whose blogs/YouTube channels I follow every day and are my inspiration for my blog and for my personal makeup purchases! I only featured six in that post, but over time, I have a lot more that I'd like to share with all of you. For now, I'll stick to four, but look forward to a 'Part 3' soon!

the post about big feet and crochet.....

I had a little trip into Manchester last week with Mr H, we try to steal away sometimes during the week as we don't get out very often and don't actually see that much of each other... so we go off somewhere..have a coffee and a bit of lunch and then noodle around a few shops...this usually entails me sneaking off to vintage and  fabric shops and Mr H disappearing in the direction of the nearest vinyl record store.......it doesn't happen very often but its just nice to spend time together....
the fruits of my trip were a small bag of lovely cotton yarn in very lovely colours....

so this weekend I turned them into these.......

and also made a bit of progress with this..

...which I started over Easter..not my usual colours but I love the way they look together with the white :)

...my plans of staying home all weekend were scuppered when in between watching re-runs of Father Ted....I saw a news article about these.....

not wanting to miss out on a very exciting chance to see these amazing GIANT puppets walking around Liverpool we piled in the car and went for a peek....

this guy was my favourite...I loved  the fact that two big men had to swing from a rope just to move his huge feet!! .... we chased them all over the city on Saturday... ( the puppets not his feet )
take a look here for more info sea odyssey Liverpool

Hope you're having a lovely week :)

charlie brown and more toilet rolls....

....so another week has whizzed by and it's friday again, I've a feeling the weekend is going to be very wet and wild so I'm planning to curl up with some crochet, old films and a pile of vintage Charlie Brown books :)

here's the result of an easter holiday afternoon with glue, toilet roll and scraps of paper and fabric....
(my best kind of afternoon )

.....Petal now has her very own little cabin of vintage patterns :)

....although I worry that her lack of arms make it impossible to hang out her little basket of vintage sheets...but I can do that for her :)

have a wonderful weekend...

Painting the (Hollywood) Town Red: 10 Celeb Examples to Spur You into a Colour Change

Red hair is sexy, fact. This is coming from a proud black-haired girl too! I was possibly around the age of seven when I first watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit with my brother and I remember as clear as day, the first time I ever saw the character of Jessica Rabbit. Sure, with her hourglass figure, she was a knockout; but for me it was her red hair that instantly hit me. Watching it with 25-year-old eyes, it seems the Disney animators were light years ahead of their time: a character with attention-grabbing red hair set in a Veronica Lake style... instant beauty kudos! Thinking about this, I was inspired to write a post about the recent return to red hair; I have listed the stars who I think got it exactly right.

more things to do with vintage wallpapers...

......a little spring break crafting has taken place..I spotted this lovely shelf over at cox and cox but also noting it was a little bit big (both in size and price) I searched and searched, then a lovely friend told me about this site
...so off I go with my white paint

yes I did paint the lamp base while I was at it :)

after a few coats and a tunnocks teacake for 'energy'.... I grabbed my stash of papers.......

......and glue and chopped and measured (kind of) and stuck...until....

I had something resembling this ......

..the perfect home for little stray deer and woodland toadstools :)

....of course once the pva glue was out...then there was no stopping me...

but I'll save that for another day :)

Hope you had a very good easter break, ours was nice..visiting family in Yorkshire, lots of walks, crocheting, picnics, dodging the raindrops and...of course a few hairy moments when boys will be boys and dogs will be dogs, pets get poorly :( and stuff breaks ( just in case that was all sounding a bit too perfect )

Review: Sigma Brushes

I finally bought my first Sigma brushes! Question is, what was I waiting for? They are as great as everyone says they are. I got individual brushes from various collections (as you can tell, there was a bit of a height difference)!

Review: John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray

I first heard about this product about a month ago on one of my favorite YouTube beauty guru's meganheartsmakeup video. I naturally have dirty blonde that keeps fading darker and darker as I have gotten older. Since end of middle school/beginning of high school, I have been getting highlights done about 3 or 4 times a year. Unfortunately, as any of you blondes are well aware of, highlights are expensive! Especially for me because I have long hair, thick hair, and a LOT of layers of hair. While I always straighten my hair and you wouldn't think that it's thick at all, every single hair dresser comments on how much hair I have. For a partial it's about 60 foils...so just imagine a full highlight! I have always liked John Frieda products but have never found a shampoo, conditioner, or spray that I thought actually made my hair lighter or helped to maintain my highlights.

NYC Bucket List

I hope you’re all having a terrific Tuesday :). For a couple weeks now, a few friends and myself have been working on creating the ultimate NYC summer bucket list! We are interns and therefore on a budget too. If YOU have been to NYC, interned in NYC, or live in NYC…I would LOVE if you could share some of your favorite spots or places that you consider a must-see and bucket list worthy. I personally have been to NYC about 7 times with family, friends and for school trips, so I have done the majority of the super touristy activities.
