Lip Products Galore

The past couple months I have been altering my makeup look to accomodate a fun lip color, instead of focusing on my eyes like I used to. I got some at the drugstore and the rest on Amazon! They have all been on my wish list for such a long time and have all proved to have amazing pigmentation and formulation. Read after the jump to find out more and see some swatches!

How To Use Oil: Face, Hair, Nails, Skin

With the recent trend of multi-purpose oils, many people have asked me how I use them. I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm no expert! I just have a few quick tips to share :)
First off, what oils have I tried? Now I've tried Moroccan Oil and all that jazz that is meant solely for the hair, but I'm reviewing more of the multi-purpose/cosmetic oils from popular beauty brands.

Did You Know?

Lately, I have been preparing for job interviews at cosmetic companies in NYC. Competitive, I know, so I take any extra time I have in my day whether it's while I'm eating breakfast or right before I go to sleep to study up on the industry. During this research, I've come across so many interesting facts that I, a beauty addict and loyal blog reader, never knew. I thought I would pass along what I find in one place for all of you :)

Did you know... (find out after the jump!)

Within the past year, I have gotten much more into nail polish than ever before. I end up painting my nails on a weekly basis and have an obsession with trying new colors (and being tempted everywhere when I see Essie and OPI for sale). Here is my current collection...I hope you enjoy! :)

ESSIE
Top Row: Raise Awareness (767-Limited Edition), Splash of Grenadine, Nice is Nice, Play Date, Turquoise & Caicos
Bottom Row: Angora Cardi, Bahama Mama, Sole Mate, Size Matters, E-nuf is E-nuf

Not pictured: Essie's No More Film

OPI
Clear Top Coat, Privacy Please, Seniorita Rose-alita, Last Minute Shopper, Diva of Geneva, Cuckoo for this Color

Next on my list to buy:
-Essie Knockout Pout (used to borrow my roommate's all the time! perfect pink)
-Essie Van D'Go (wearing it on acrylics now and obsessed- peachy pink)

What are your favorite Essie and OPI colors I should have in my collection? I love suggestions! :)

My Entire Makeup Collection!

As requested by many, I have taken pictures and organized my entire makeup collection. My purpose of this post is that now that you know what I own right now, if you want a review on any of the products then I'd be happy to do so! Some products are relatively old while some are brand new. This is also a way to show my true passion and interest in cosmetics! Nail polish collection and brush collection coming soon :). Enjoy!

My entire collection organization using Muji acrylic drawers and Target 3-drawers (eye shadow palettes not included)

My Top 5 Makeup Brushes

One of the most highly asked beauty questions I receive is what makeup brushes to buy to start out. Many quality brushes can be a bit pricey, so I will address both luxury and drugstore brushes I have found to work the best and last the longest.

I'm going to rank 1-5 based on what you must have in your collection (#1) to what you should have (#5). So keep reading to find out!

February Drugstore Haul

I went to Walgreens to pick up a few essentials and decided to only get a few makeup products that I've been wanting for a while- no impulses aloud!

1.  L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Golden Sage
I have the Infallible shadows in gold and amber rush that I absolutely LOVE. They are dupes for the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows that retail for way more expensive. I don't have a single green eyeshadow and wouldn't have considered it until I saw Andrea review it and LOVED it.

2. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded
I have the color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and wanted a lighter shade as well. This color is SO practical that I feel like I will wear it everyday. It's a light and shimmery champagne color that would flatter any skin tone.

3. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink
My roommate picked this one up and after seeing it on her, I loved it! I think with MAC All That Glitters eyeshadow over it will be gorgeous! It's also perfect to use for a Valentine's Day look :)

4. Essie Nail Polish in No More Film
I don't really have a navy polish in my college surprisingly, because I like dark colors a lot. This one is an opaque and glossy formula.

5. Covergirl Lip Perfection Gloss Balm in Rose Twist
I first heard about these from Eleventh Gorgeous and they reviewed them highly. They also were wearing them in the video and I loved the look. I was torn whether to get Rose Twist or Berry Twist, but I figured rose would match more and be more practical for now. If I like it, I'm definitely going back for Berry Twist too!

6. Jordana Lip Pencil in Tawny
If you have heard of Carli Bybel or carlibel55, then you have probably heard her mention Tawny (in addition to L'Oreal Telescopic mascara). I don't use lip liners often, but it's a great natural pink to own for when I do want to wear mauve/pink lipsticks.

I swatched all the products (except the nail polish of course) on my hand! Beautiful colors, right?!

What are your February drugstore favorites?

xx, Ariana

A Classic Makeup Look

One of the most simple, classic and beautiful makeup looks is the red lip, winged black liner and wavy/curly hair. Think Marilyn Monroe-esque. I recreated this look, of which I was never able to master until now! I have hooded eye lids, making the "wing" be nearly impossible. I discovered a way to do the wing to suit my needs. I keep my eyes open when I initially create the wing.

To find out what products I used, read after the jump!

How To Prep Your Lips For Lipstick

I was never someone who wore lipstick until this past Fall when I fell in love with the look of berry lips. Lipstick always scared me if I'm honest. The bold, opaque color, the fear of it smearing on my face or getting on my teeth. Sounds silly now, but we've all been there.

While I still have a small lipstick collection, I have found ways that I like to make the most out of my lipstick, which you can read about after the jump!

All-Natural: A Golden Globes Trend

Whether you were able to watch the Golden Globes or not, I'm sure you've seen all the red carpet pictures. I personally love watching award shows, not just the red carpet, so I was sure to be home in front of my TV when 8pm rolled around. I also love watching my Twitter feed rapidly burst out in comments as people speak, win, react, and walk by on TV! See my tweet reactions during the show @arianavoyer

One of the major trends from this years red carpet was NATURAL
From makeup to the nude/beige colors of the gowns.

Kate Hudson with pale, natural makeup- This is one of my favorites too!

LUSH Cosmetics Haul

My roommates and I who all follow beauty bloggers have been hearing about LUSH for way too long. We decided to take a trip to the Florida Mall in Orlando since they have a stand alone LUSH store to pick up a few products we've been lusting over the past year. It's not a big store by any means, but still filled with all their yummy smelling, skin soothing products.

Birchbox January 2013

For Christmas this year, one of the gifts my sister gave to me was a Birchbox subscription to try it out for a few months! I was super excited since I've never had one of the beauty box subscriptions before, even though I probably should have sooner for my constant makeup shopping addiction. Since I was so excited about Birchbox and seeing what my roommates got from Ipsy, I subscribed to that one too, YAY! :)

Fall Ulta/TJ Maxx Haul

I could say Fall is my favorite season, for I do love the pumpkin craze (frappuccinos, candles, etc.), but unfortunately being in the middle of Florida, we don't really see (or feel) the seasons. In fact, I have NEVER once in my 21 years of life seen Fall leaves. Call me deprived? Yes...but I do get to go to the beach on Christmas if I want to! My day will come to see Fall leaves...and to see snow for the first time! I'm graduating in May and most likely moving back up to NYC. You better believe I will be in Central Park taking in the Fall beauty as often as I can!!

Most Worn Summer 2012 Tag!

As school is started up again and summer is coming to a close, this tag has been extremely popular in the blogging/YouTube world. After watching Charley's (Athens With Love - definitely check her out, such a sweet and genuine beauty vlogger) video, I decided to forward the tag! This summer for me wasn't the typical, at home in FL going to the beach every day and drinking daquiris by the pool. It was quite the opposite actually, because I was in NYC for a 10-week internship! My typical summer beauty habits focused on moisturizers with SPF, powder foundation and waterproof mascara, quickly changed to working city girl beauty necessities.
