Within the past year, I have gotten much more into nail polish than ever before. I end up painting my nails on a weekly basis and have an obsession with trying new colors (and being tempted everywhere when I see Essie and OPI for sale). Here is my current collection...I hope you enjoy! :)
ESSIE |
Top Row: Raise Awareness (767-Limited Edition), Splash of Grenadine, Nice is Nice, Play Date, Turquoise & Caicos
Bottom Row: Angora Cardi, Bahama Mama, Sole Mate, Size Matters, E-nuf is E-nuf
Not pictured: Essie's No More Film
OPI |
Clear Top Coat, Privacy Please, Seniorita Rose-alita, Last Minute Shopper, Diva of Geneva, Cuckoo for this Color
Next on my list to buy:
-Essie Knockout Pout (used to borrow my roommate's all the time! perfect pink)
-Essie Van D'Go (wearing it on acrylics now and obsessed- peachy pink)
What are your favorite Essie and OPI colors I should have in my collection? I love suggestions! :)

sewing and feels a bit like spring over here...
I am back in my little shed these days...half term was great..no rain and a couple of family days out as well as time at home to unwind and relax...OK...who am I kidding it was tricky with screen bans and niggles and boys who seem to be permanently embarrassed by their Mum..but mostly it was lovely :)
my head is a bit all over the place at the moment...too many things I want to do and new things I want to try but I figured I had to focus on a few new things for the shop...so I dug deep in my stash and made some pillow covers...
nice and bright and spring like :)
more of that another time :)
I have my giveaway all planned and ready to go so pop back soon for details
Have a lovely week x x x x x

colour crush quilt...
it's half term again...last month came and went in a blur...and I needed something to distract me...so I delved into my fabric stash and got to work...
using my all time faves (it took some deep breaths to chop in to some of them) I started on another quilt...
triangles this time...and a few neon's...I have loved making this :) I didn't really know what I was doing and there were moments of despair...like when I realised I had sewn them into hexagons instead of stripes...but I grabbed the unpicker and started again...
there have been some very late nights and I took it everywhere to make sure I could finish it....
using my favourite bobbly 60's sheet for the back..
and made a border in a pretty floral.. neon triangles and vintage patterns together are my favourite :)
yesterday when the sun was shining...it almost felt like spring and I sat outside my little shed and did the final hand stitching...
I'm so happy with how it turned out...
I am still sorting out the fabrics and keep adding them to my shop whenever I can ...there is a little sale on at the moment too...
hope you are having a lovely week x x x x x

My Top 5 Makeup Brushes
One of the most highly asked beauty questions I receive is what makeup brushes to buy to start out. Many quality brushes can be a bit pricey, so I will address both luxury and drugstore brushes I have found to work the best and last the longest.
I'm going to rank 1-5 based on what you must have in your collection (#1) to what you should have (#5). So keep reading to find out!

February Drugstore Haul
I went to Walgreens to pick up a few essentials and decided to only get a few makeup products that I've been wanting for a while- no impulses aloud!
1. L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Golden Sage
I have the Infallible shadows in gold and amber rush that I absolutely LOVE. They are dupes for the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows that retail for way more expensive. I don't have a single green eyeshadow and wouldn't have considered it until I saw Andrea review it and LOVED it.
2. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded
I have the color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and wanted a lighter shade as well. This color is SO practical that I feel like I will wear it everyday. It's a light and shimmery champagne color that would flatter any skin tone.
3. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink
My roommate picked this one up and after seeing it on her, I loved it! I think with MAC All That Glitters eyeshadow over it will be gorgeous! It's also perfect to use for a Valentine's Day look :)
4. Essie Nail Polish in No More Film
I don't really have a navy polish in my college surprisingly, because I like dark colors a lot. This one is an opaque and glossy formula.
5. Covergirl Lip Perfection Gloss Balm in Rose Twist
I first heard about these from Eleventh Gorgeous and they reviewed them highly. They also were wearing them in the video and I loved the look. I was torn whether to get Rose Twist or Berry Twist, but I figured rose would match more and be more practical for now. If I like it, I'm definitely going back for Berry Twist too!
6. Jordana Lip Pencil in Tawny
If you have heard of Carli Bybel or carlibel55, then you have probably heard her mention Tawny (in addition to L'Oreal Telescopic mascara). I don't use lip liners often, but it's a great natural pink to own for when I do want to wear mauve/pink lipsticks.

I swatched all the products (except the nail polish of course) on my hand! Beautiful colors, right?!

how to ...make monsieur et madame Lolly
bonjour :) here is a little how to for a blustery Monday morning...based on my lolly stick dollies I have made some Valentine dolls...to give to someone you love or keep all to your lovely self :)
madame lolly |
monsieur lolly |
You will need :
Fabrics in various patterns depending on if you would like a boy or girl and some felt
sewing machine (you could hand stitch though)
scissors..pins..needle..thread
stuffing (you could raid a pillow like I often do, just don't tell Mr h)
buttons..trims etc
Cut out two rectangles and curve the top edge (this will be the main body)...cut your felt to fit over the top curved edge in a hairstyle of your choice..cut out any features you wish to add
Cut out a square piece of fabric for the shirt
Lay all these on to one of your body pieces and sew on with a .5cm seam
Take your other body piece and place directly on top, with right sides facing sew all around the edges with a 1cm seam leaving the hem at the bottom open
Turn right way out and it should look something like this...above
You could cut out some accessories like a tie or belt and some cheeks to add later..
Fill with stuffing and the slip stitch the hem closed
Hand stitch the cheeks and eyes and attach the tie with a small button
If you are making the girl, same process just different features..
Monsieur and Madame Lolly are a present for my Valentine... I am not sure why they are French...maybe its Mr Lollys facial hair??
I'd love to see if you have a go at making these...
Happy Monday x x x
PS I have just noticed that I have 1000 followers :) so to say a big thank you I will be having a giveaway very soon x x x x
